American Sugar Alliance Statement on the Agricultural Act

The American Sugar Alliance issued the following statement on the release of the Agricultural Act of 2026:

"We applaud Chairman John Boozman and his colleagues on the Senate Agriculture Committee for releasing a Farm Bill that recognizes the immense pressures facing rural America. The Agricultural Act of 2026 will continue the work achieved in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act by further strengthening the bipartisan farm policies that serve as a lifeline to America's farmers and ranchers. The Agricultural Act of 2026 recognizes the essential role of U.S. sugar policy and drives progress for strengthened crop insurance tools for farmers.

"America's sugar producers look forward to the certainty that a full reauthorization of the Farm Bill will bring to rural America, especially as the U.S. sugar industry faces numerous headwinds, including excess over-quota foreign sugar and numerous natural disasters.

"America's farm economy is in crisis; we cannot afford to lose more family farms or factories. It's time to finally get a new Farm Bill across the finish line."
