ALSOBROOKS: ROAD TO HOUSING BECOMES LAW

WASHINGTON, DC - Senator Angela Alsobrooks (D-Md.), a member of the Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, released the following statement after the Renewing Opportunity in the American Dream (ROAD) to Housing Act officially became law, without the President's signature.

"Marylanders across our state tell me the same thing: housing costs too much.

"At midnight, the ROAD to Housing Act became law without President Trump's signature. His priorities are clear - he doesn't care to lower the cost of housing. He only cares about himself and his billionaire friends. What a shame.

"I am proud I worked across the aisle with colleagues in the Senate to ensure this legislation became law - the most comprehensive housing legislation in over 30 years. This bill will lower costs, cut red tape, increase the housing supply, and help make the dream of homeownership more affordable."
