RE: Flags at Half-Staff in Honor of Former Representative J. Bruce Hoffmann

On Wednesday, November 19, 2025, Former Representative Bruce Hoffmann passed away at the age of 78. Representative Hoffmann was elected to serve District 114 in 1998 and was reelected for a second term in 2000. He was proud to serve his hometown of Miami Springs as a Representative of Miami-Dade County. Following his service in the Florida House of Representatives he moved to Tallahassee to serve in the Bush Administration. He served as the General Counsel for the Florida Department of Management Services and the Florida Department of Revenue and in 2011 he was selected to serve as the Chief of Staff for the Florida Lottery. Former Representative Hoffmann is survived by his wife and son. He will be remembered for his dedication to public service and to improving his community and the State of Florida


To honor Representative Bruce Hoffmann, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol in Tallahassee, Florida and all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the City of Tallahassee from sunrise to sunset on Friday, December 5, 2025.
