Government of Yukon announces Yukon Nominee Program update for 2026

Published January 12, 2026

The Government of Yukon has received an allocation of 282 for the 2026 Yukon Nominee Program. For 2026, employers can submit an online expression of interest form during one of two intake periods:

  • January 19 to 30; and
  • July 6 to 17.

Employers will need to provide basic information about the foreign national they are sponsoring through an online form. Submissions will receive points for meeting priorities. Employers who submitted an expression of interest in 2025 and were not invited to apply will also receive points. The highest scoring employers in each intake will be invited to submit an application to the program.

The Yukon Nominee Program priorities for 2026 are:

  • regulated health care professionals;
  • employers in rural Yukon; and
  • foreign nationals who:
    • have lived and worked in the Yukon for at least one year;
    • are Yukon University graduates;
    • are Francophone or French-speaking; or
    • received a Temporary Measure Letter of Support in 2024 or 2025.

Recipients of a Temporary Measure Letter of Support in 2024 or 2025 do not need to submit an expression of intake. These applicants will be contacted with next steps to complete their applications.

Our government is committed to supporting the business community in upholding a nominee program to address staffing shortages. We are also committed to reviewing the Yukon's immigration processes to ensure they are fair, transparent and continue to support local businesses and communities while ensuring we support those who have already chosen the Yukon as their home.

Minister of Economic Development Jen Gehmair

  • The Government of Canada announced a new Express Entry category that allows doctors who have worked full time in Canada for at least one year to apply through a faster process.

  • 5,000 additional spaces have been set-aside across Canada for licensed doctors who have a job offer.

  • The Yukon nominated 312 individuals for permanent residency in 2025.
