Prateek Kuhad Returns With New Album ‘Full Moon Chamber’

A singular voice in songwriting, Prateek Kuhad's sound has been praised as "incredibly engaging" (New York Magazine) while he's risen to become "one of India's leading singer-songwriters" (Rolling Stone). Already headlining major festivals like Lollapalooza India, Kuhad's resonance stateside has increasingly become undeniable, with NPR Music tapping him as "one to watch" at SXSW, US Weekly praising his music as "beautifully haunting," all as his North American audience has grown tenfold in recent years. In New York - where Kuhad fell in love with artists like Elliott Smith and Fleet Foxes while studying at NYU - he has moved rapidly from headlining clubs like Baby's All Right to the 2,800-capacity Beacon Theater on his most recent trip.

This summer Kuhad will return with his third full-length studio record 'Full Moon Chamber,' out July 10 via Atlantic Records. "It's about how my mental and emotional state shifted across time," says Kuhad of the 14-song collection. "I went through a lot of uncertainty for a couple of years. The music industry changed. A lot changed for me personally as well. But through it all, I ended up finding a part of myself that I had lost. The album follows that arc." Created between New York and Los Angeles, the project explores themes of love, identity, and emotional transformation - capturing a period of both personal and artistic evolution.

Alongside the announcement, Kuhad has shared the song and video "Blush" today, about "that heady feeling of infatuation that comes with meeting somebody and falling for them hard," as Kuhad explains.

First arriving on the international scene with his 2018 EP "cold/mess," Kuhad debuted at #1 on Spotify India. Following up that breakthrough release with "Kasoor" in 2020, Kuhad would become the first independently-released artist to claim the #1 spot on Apple Music's all-genre chart. His full-length collection The Way That Lovers Do arrived in 2022 and earned new fanfare, with "Co2" becoming his most-streamed track ever on Spotify. On its heels, he has headlined sold out tours across North America, Europe, UK, Asia, and the Middle East. Prateek will continue that touring momentum across the globe later this year, with more dates to be announced soon.
