Always Asking, "How Can We Help?"

For Connie Fink, helping others comes naturally. In her role supporting the Human Resources team, she is often the person asking, "What can we do to help?" and then turning those ideas into meaningful action.

Continuing a Tradition of Comfort and Care

Her commitment to serving others began years ago when she organized the annual holiday decorating effort at the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge. After seeing firsthand how a festive, welcoming space could bring comfort and brighten the spirits of patients and families navigating some of life's most difficult moments, Connie knew she wanted to continue making a difference. Today, thanks to her dedication, the Human Resources team proudly carries on that tradition each year.

Helping Local Students Start the School Year Strong

More recently, Connie brought Human Resources employees together to support Homegrown Hope, a community-driven organization that helps children and families facing challenges such as food insecurity, housing instability, and limited access to essential resources. Through a collection drive she organized, employees donated backpacks, school supplies, and other much-needed items to support Homegrown Hope's Backpack Program Expansion Initiative.

What made the project especially meaningful was that the children were able to "shop" for and select their own supplies, giving them a sense of choice, dignity, and excitement as they prepared for the school year.

The response was inspiring. Thanks to the generosity of employees and Connie's leadership, boxes of supplies were collected to help ensure local students begin the school year with the resources they need to learn, grow, and succeed.
