Start of the 2026-2028's mandate for the Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science

Dear all,

The main ambitions for the Council relate to visibility, strengthening our community, education, and impact. Through our active collaboration with ESC Working Groups, Councils, and Associations we will continue to strengthen our scientific community and facilitate (multidisciplinary) collaborations and exchange of knowledge and techniques.

Ensuring visibility of the impact of basic science by highlighting research developments will be key - at ESC Congress, FCVB, and beyond. To stay up to date with the latest news and initiatives please follow our new Council LinkedIn page .

Finally, education will continue to be a priority. In addition to the highly successful ESC Fund Basic Science Course, we will be developing other educational activities including webinars. In collaboration with the ESC Scientists of Tomorrow, we will actively interact with the younger community and support them with mentoring and funding opportunities.

I am excited to start the 2026-2028 mandate as Chair of the ESC Council on Basic Cardiovascular Science. I would like to congratulate the newly elected Nucleus members - meet them here . I look forward to working together in the next two years to further advance basic and translational cardiovascular science.
