Sri Lankan Defence Secretary Meets India's National Security Advisor Ahead of BIMSTEC Security Chiefs' Meeting

Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), currently on an official visit to New Delhi, India, met India's National Security Advisor Mr. Ajit Doval yesterday (15 July) on the sidelines of the 5th BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs' Meeting.

During the cordial meeting, the two officials discussed avenues for enhancing bilateral cooperation in defence, security and maritime affairs. They also exchanged views on regional and global security developments of mutual interest.

The Defence Secretary is representing Sri Lanka at the 5th BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs' Meeting, which is being held today (16 July) in New Delhi. The meeting brings together national security leaders from BIMSTEC member states to discuss regional security challenges and strengthen cooperation in addressing shared security concerns.
