Central Penn Business Journal’s 2025 Top Project Awarded to The York Water Company

York, Pennsylvania, September 23, 2024 - The York Water Company is pleased to share that the Lake Williams Dam has been selected as a recipient of the 2025 Top Project by the Central Penn Business Journal.

This award recognizes the best building and construction projects completed between January 2024 - December 2024 in Central Pennsylvania and focuses on projects that are leaving a notable mark on the landscape of our area. The York Water Company is the only public utility to be selected for this award.

President Hand stated, "The York Water Company is proud of the newly rehabilitated Lake Williams Dam. It is an honor to lead the way as the only dam/infrastructure rehabilitation project to be selected by the Central Penn Business Journal as a Top Project. For more than 200 years, The York Water Company has been providing safe, reliable drinking water to our community. Today, the Lake Williams Dam is impounding water needed by 210,000+ people, thousands of daily visitors, and industrial and commercial customers in our territory. Adding 60+ million gallons of additional storage capacity, the 1.14-billion-gallon reservoir and dam provides for our community today and will provide well in the future.

The Central Penn Business Journal 2025 Top Project award will be received, on behalf of all York Water employees, by our President and CEO, JT Hand during the award ceremony this fall.
