Washington, D.C. (September 16, 2026)-The National Council of Farmer Cooperatives (NCFC) applauds the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry for advancing legislation that updates America's farm policy and delivers the certainty that farmers, ranchers, and rural communities need.
"Today's vote is a critical step in providing producers, co-ops, and rural communities with the certainty a new farm bill will provide," said Duane Simpson, President and CEO of NCFC. " Farmer cooperatives have pressed for a farm bill that shores up the safety net, broadens access to capital, and invests in the rural communities their farmer-owners call home and today's action gets us a significant step closer. We thank Chairman Boozman and the Senate Agriculture Committee members for their work to advance a farm bill out of committee and urge leaders of both the House and Senate to urgently deliver a final bipartisan bill that rural America deserves."
