Public Information Officer (PIO) Professional Certification Training will be held, Nov. 11-13.
This comprehensive professional development program equips current and aspiring Public Information Officers with the critical skills needed to excel in today's complex information environment. Designed for communications professionals across public safety, emergency management, and government sectors, this training builds expertise in strategic messaging, crisis communications and media management.
Professional scope
The course addresses the full spectrum of PIO responsibilities, from proactive public education and community engagement to high-stakes crisis communications and incident management. Participants will master both traditional and digital media platforms while developing the strategic thinking skills essential for effective public information leadership.

Intensive multi-day curriculum combining theoretical foundations with practical application through realistic scenarios, case studies and hands-on exercises. Participants will complete actual campaign development projects and receive individual coaching on presentation skills.
