LONDON-Stripe, the programmable financial services company, today announced a major partnership with Lloyds, the UK's largest digital bank. Lloyds will use Stripe to power Lloyds Accept, a new suite of payment tools for UK small businesses-giving them access to the same payments infrastructure as the world's leading payments teams at companies like Amazon or OpenAI.
Lloyds Accept is integrated directly into the Lloyds Business Account, and enables small businesses to accept payments however they trade: in-person with modern terminal devices, through Tap to Pay, or via payment links for online sales. Businesses can get set up and start taking payments within minutes.
"Simple, flexible payment solutions are essential for growth," said Amanda Murphy, CEO of Lloyds Business & Commercial Banking. "These new tools enable customers to get set up and start trading instantly-supporting healthy cash flow, which is critical for every stage of growth."
"A small business on any UK high street can now run on the same payments infrastructure as the largest and fastest-growing companies in the world," said Eileen O'Mara, Chief Revenue Officer at Stripe. "World-class financial tools shouldn't be gated by size and, together with Lloyds, we're reaching more businesses than we ever could alone."
Lloyds serves over 26 million individual customers and more than one million business customers.
