Senator Warren Statement on January 2026 PCE

Washington, D.C. - United States Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Ranking Member of the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee released the following statement:

"Donald Trump's chaotic tariffs and failed economic agenda continue to drive up costs for American families. Trump claims that he 'defeated' inflation, but today's data shows that it is higher than when he was sworn into office - as families have had to spend more on health care, utilities, and food. And this was before Trump single-handedly dragged the United States into a war with Iran, which will only lead to even higher prices for families - from the gas pump and the grocery store to airline tickets and shipping costs."
