Drew Responds to David Spade Asking if They've Made Out

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/gH1FrUQVdhfY

Valerie: I need an answer to this story. This one involves you, Drew. That's why I need this for you to hear this one. So David Spade said on his podcast that he thinks the two of you have made out years ago, but he can't remember if it actually happened. So Drew, can you set the record straight?

Drew: I wanted Chelsea to answer this one because I can see that those wheels -

Chelsea: That probably did happen.

Drew: You think so?

Chelsea: Yeah, probably at some stage everyone has made out with David Spade at some point.

Valerie: You don't remember.

Drew: No, but I drank for like two decades and so you know it, it could have happened.

Chelsea: It could have probably, making out, who cares anyway?

Drew: I was such a makeout bandit too, like it was part of my introduction like my hello had tongue, you know, like it just did, you know, and I'm glad because I'm such a nun now. I'm so chaste.

Chelsea: It's reverse osmosis. She got all her kinks out already, so now she's just settling into her enjoyable life that she should have had when she was a teenager.

Drew: I would just walk up to people, grab them by the shirt, and start making out with them. I was a real makeout bandit.

Chelsea: Yeah, so my money's on that she did make out with David Spade. I just wanna put that out there on the record.

Drew: Oh, I just saw him the other day and he didn't bring it up then, but you know, apparently on his podcast, so David, you know, maybe.

Drew and Val on Being on List of Celibate Celebrities and Chelsea and Drew on Still Being Open to Romance

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/wIiGvjvuFYbN

Drew: There is a new list, it's celebrating 23 celebrities who have opened up about being celibate, and apparently Val and I both made the list. Us sexless goddesses.

Valerie: I think this all started because I had MacKenzie Phillips on my podcast and she was saying she's been celibate for 15 years and she didn't think that was like such a big deal and all of a sudden it blew up.

Drew: Because the longer it goes, the more you normalize it.

Valerie: My fear is that it's been so long, it's been years, since I have. I don't even know if I have a sex drive any longer, it's been so long.

Drew: I promise you, you do because when you meet someone, it is unreal to me and I'm such a romantic. Every place I go to, and I don't go out very often, I'm a real homebody, but when I do every single time it's, they could be here, they could be in this room. Then they are not in the room, but I am a hopeless romantic, and whenever I've even met someone, the sparks, the chemistry, it is real, it, it really wakes something up inside of you. Your eyes go, out of all the people I'm staring at you, what is this connection? I absolutely believe with every fiber of my being somebody can approach you and wake you up.

Chelsea: Yes, I went to the opera last night. I had never been in the opera at Lincoln Center and it was the opening night of the season and I got all dressed up and I was like maybe some man will come and buy me a martini or hand me a martini or something and that didn't happen, but I like the idea of also what you're saying of being open to the possibilities that life has to offer. You never know when you are gonna meet someone and they are gonna light you up but I don't know, we're not done, we're still here.

Val on Not Going on a Date/Note Date Recently

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/cuP9i2OZJZ1y

Drew: Wait, Val, didn't you not go on a date recently?

Valerie: How do you know?

Drew: Because I know everything. I actually don't, but I'd like to pretend I do.

Valerie: Yeah, Monday. Well, it was a, well, a date, not a date. I've, I met him two years ago. I'm not talking about this. Singles in Finland are taking their search for the love to the grocery stores.

Drew Reveals She Ghosted Someone

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/aG5MxI7wV2NS

Drew: Well, you know, a lot of us sort of complain about how we've been ghosted and recently I realized that I think I ghost as well, so I met someone and they asked for my phone number and we started texting and then they asked me out, OK, this is too painful, I can't do it. And I thought, you know what? I should do my due diligence. If somebody's asking me out and I'm gonna go out with them, let me just sniff around and see where they're at in life and what I uncovered under the hood was that they were not in a place in their life that would suit me and my lifestyle, and so when they texted again after I had found this out, I didn't know what to say, so I didn't say anything and I just let the text lie and I thought, 'Oh my god, I did the thing that I complain about having done to me.' Yeah, I ghosted someone.

Chelsea on Men Falling Asleep at Her Shows

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/h94nDbBlh4EG

Drew: You have always worked with a live audience, can you tell me one thing that will like get under your skin that you've got to reframe in the moment, like have you ever dealt with like that sourpuss face or just someone who's like an energy suck or a weirdo who is like taunting you in the audience, has that ever happened?
Chelsea:
Yeah I've had grown men asleep at my shows, like a fully grown male who is at the show because some woman dragged him there, you know. And you look over and they're like - and you're like, 'How is this possible? You're in the front row' like that's actually not on me, that's on you, you know. You can't come to a comedy show, I mean you can, but I'm gonna call you out. So I've had that, but you know I just take that, that just emboldens me more.

Chelsea on Why She Started Matchmaking for People Online

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/bIFEhEDXVtWb

Drew: The thing that I've been watching you do lately and why I think we're honoring this whole hour of the show around what you're doing is to celebrate the fact that you are, should we call it playing Cupid?
Chelsea:
Sure.
Drew:
Should we call it spreading the wealth on sort of innovating how we meet and find people to try and get out of these comfort zones to put themselves out there, meet people again through someone safe like you, how did this all start and will you take us through it because I am loving what you are doing, I am asking for me, go.
Chelsea:
I was at this party in Los Angeles and there were so many eligible, successful, amazing women and they were all saying the same thing, that these dating websites and all of these things that we have grown accustomed to in the last 20 years, it's like there's abundance so you just swipe left, right, oh that guy's cute, I'll talk to him, maybe, never, never. You know, like you're not taking it seriously. We've lost our dating etiquette. People don't know how to interact and then follow up and then go on the date or actually tell someone if you're not interested. That's not the biggest rub, that's better to be a little bit direct than to just ghost someone or start talking and disappear, right, no one likes that. And um so I was like maybe I can help people meet because you know if a straight guy is on my page, he's gotta be on the decent side of things. You know what I mean? There's not a lot of straight guys who are like I'm a huge Chelsea Handler fan, so if they are, they're in touch with themselves. And so I've had five couples that I've set up that have been dating for over four months.
Drew:
That is…
Chelsea:
Yeah, I am really proud of this.

Betches U Up? Co-Host Jared Freid and Chelsea Handler on Not Taking Things Personally in Dating

https://app.cimediacloud.com/r/42GiJd7tVdOq

Drew: How long have you guys been dating?

Jared: Oh, it's been since the beginning of the year. So it's fairly new, but we dated before and it ended, and then we didn't speak for 2.5 years and then got back and reconnected.

Drew: And did you not speak because you really did not want to talk to each other or you just drifted apart, life took you in different directions and you found your way back?

Jared: You know, I ended it the first time and it just was -

Chelsea: Why did you end it the first time?

Jared: I wasn't ready, you know, I wasn't there and I think the insecurities were all mine. This is all, the weird thing about dating and especially from the male point of view and something that gets confused, it's not personal as much as it is a personal thing. You know, a lot of men are just trying to, you know, get themselves where they want to go, and it's emotional bumper cars and someone else's emotions come into play, which is overlooked a lot of times, and that's the part where you're being a little bit mean. So I think that a lot of this dating talk gets vilified, it's men versus women. It's not that, it's two people trying to get to the best place for themselves.

Chelsea: I like what you're saying. I like that you're saying it's not personal because it feels very personal when you're dating someone, and for many people it really isn't that personal. I kind of feel the way that you feel. Like I love being around somebody for a certain amount of time and then I'm like, 'OK, well this is kind of run its course' but it's not because of anything to do with them, it's like I'm not that I'm not a relationship person. I'm not looking for a long term relationship and that's kind of sometimes hard to explain, but I know like some men, I don't speak for men obviously, but I know some like many men feel the way that you do. It's like you're trying to get further along you know, in your life and that you're looking for someone to pair up at, you know, at that time, and it's not always the right timing so I understand going back to someone after.
