Following the announcement of the military academy cut off marks for 2026, the Deputy Minister of National Defence Thanasis Davakis stated:

"Much has been said, regarding the reforms that we are promoting and their acceptance by the young Greeks, who are planning their future. These reforms are part of the overall Agenda 2030 strategy for National Defence, with a great part of them actually addressing the upgrade of military academies, in terms of their curricula, infrastructure, and accessibility.

This year's cut offs and the significant threshold increase for admission to the Hellenic Military Academy and the Hellenic Air Force NCO Academy, as well as the almost total filling of vacancies across all military academies confirm that we are headed towards the right direction.

The more the upgrading of our Academies continues and the new reforms are implemented in action, the more our Military Academies will solidify their place as the top academic and professional option for Greeks, while also utilising the most precious weapon of our country: its personnel.

We keep on moving forward, with prudence and dedication to our goals of upgrading our Armed Forces and the care for their personnel".
