From October 3-5, Hawks will flock to campus for a homecoming weekend of old traditions and unforgettable events. Alumni, students, parents, families, and friends of the University are invited to join the festivities.
The weekend kicks off Friday, October 3 with A Taste of Home in University Commons. An array of family dishes will be featured-with recipes submitted by UHart students. Later that evening, The Pub returns with food, fun, drinks, and live music from UHart's Redtail Records label.
The 40th and 50(ish) Reunion Dinner will also take place Friday evening, with President Ward in attendance.
Saturday, you'll want to catch all the delicious eats, student performances, and plenty of Hawk spirit at Hawktoberfest or Tailgate Village. All weekend, you can cheer on the field hockey, women's volleyball, and soccer teams-and Saturday afternoon, you can head to the Hartford Hawks Softball field for the team's signature fundraising event, the Home Run Derby.
Sunday morning brings two favorite events. At 9am you can race, run, walk or jog your way through campus alongside UHart alumni, students, families, and friends at the annual Hawktober 5K (separate registration required). Meanwhile, at 11 a.m., the Jazz Brunch is back at Gengras Student Union, featuring recording artist and alumna Latanya Farrell M'97, M'98.
All weekend long you'll be able to check out exhibits in Joseloff and Slipe Galleries, catch the mainstage performance of Thornton Wilder's The Skin of our Teeth in Millard Auditorium, browse the Alumni Art Marketplace, and attend meet-and-greets and gatherings for students, alumni, and parents to make friends and connections with Hawks past, present, and future.
