Milling and Resurfacing on Route 262 in Watertown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 262 in Watertown. This project is scheduled to occur on Sunday, July 12 and be completed on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. The project 0174-0488CN "II" consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.54-mile segment of Route 262 in Watertown from Route 6 to Frost Bridge Road. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Black and Boucher on Sunday, July 12 to Thursday, July 16, 2026. The resurfacing segment of this project by Tilcon CT Inc. is anticipated to begin on Sunday, July 19 to Tuesday, July 28, 2026.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 262 from Route 6 to Frost Bridge Road in Watertown. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday -Thursday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
