National Sorghum Producers Applauds Confirmation of Julie Callahan as USTR Chief Agricultural Negotiator

WASHINGTON (Dec. 19, 2025) - National Sorghum Producers today congratulates Julie Callahan on her confirmation as chief agricultural negotiator at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.

Callahan has served at USTR since 2016 and brings extensive experience leading agricultural trade negotiations. As chief agricultural negotiator, she will play a central role in advancing U.S. agricultural interests and maintaining market access for American farmers.

"Julie Callahan's confirmation comes at an important moment for U.S. agriculture," said NSP Chair Amy France, a farmer from Scott City, Kan. "Sorghum growers depend on strong, reliable trade relationships, and Julie understands both the technical and practical realities of agricultural trade. Her experience and leadership will be critical as the administration works to strengthen existing markets and pursue new opportunities for U.S. farmers."

Sorghum relies heavily on export markets, making effective agricultural trade policy essential to the long-term success of growers and rural communities.

NSP looks forward to continuing to work with the chief ag negotiator to ensure trade policy reflects the needs of farmers and keeps American agriculture competitive globally.
