Comcast's Xfinity Multiview Named a 2026 Product of the Year by NAB

Xfinity's Create Your Own Multiview won the 2026 NAB Product of the Year Award in the streaming category, recognizing the feature as one of the most innovative streaming experiences currently available to consumers.

Available on X1 for Xfinity TV customers, Create Your Own Multiview gives customers the ability to select and watch up to four live games at once, switch between audio feeds, and create custom layouts that spotlight the action that matter most to them - all in single, seamless viewing experience.

How it works

Unlike most multiview solutions, which rely on device-side processing or specialized hardware, Xfinity's Create Your Own Multiview is rendered server-side. In practical terms, this means the multi-game layout gets assembled in the cloud as soon as the customer requests it, giving us the ability to deliver tens of thousands multiview combinations through one stream vs. assembling unique streams for every possible multiview combination. We partnered with MediaKind, a video technology company specializing in media processing and streaming infrastructure, to develop this technology and the result is a consistent, high-quality and fully viewer-controlled experience across devices.

Multiview's Evolution and Customer Response

Since launching Multiview in October 2024, we've continued to evolve the experience, introducing new capabilities designed to give customers more control and flexibility while watching live sports. Our first iteration of Multiview laid the foundation and subsequent enhancements, including a Spotlight feature and Create Your Own Multiview, have expanded how fans can personalize and engage with multiple games at once.

Customer response to these viewing features has been strong. A year after launch, we saw a nearly 300 percent jump in both Multiview sessions and number of households using the feature.

The impact of these enhancements was especially evident during this year's March Madness, when customers could for the first time choose between pre-selected Multiview experiences and creating their own, building on the curated-only offerings available in 2025. The result was an over 200 percent increase in both sessions and participating households compared to the prior year.

The ability to spotlight one game within Multiview was launched in direct response to customer feedback - they loved being able to watch multiple live events on the same screen but noted there were times they wanted to follow one game more closely than the others. So, we launched Spotlight mode and saw time spent within Multiview jump by over 400 percent.

The 2026 NAB Product of the Year Award is presented annually by the National Association of Broadcasters. Being recognized alongside other outstanding technology products across the media, entertainment, and broadcasting industry reflects our commitment to delivering fan-focused live sports experiences at the highest level. As viewing behaviors continue to evolve, we'll keep investing alongside partners like MediaKind in new features and technologies that put fans in control and deliver sports experiences our customers can't find anywhere else.
