Treasurer Stacy Garrity and Rep. Mindy Fee Return More than $43,000 in Unclaimed Property

Manheim, PA - Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity and Rep. Mindy Fee (R-37) announced today that more than $43,000 in unclaimed property has been returned to residents and entities across the 37th legislative district, following a recent event held at Rep. Fee's office in Manheim, Lancaster County.

"Events like this make it easier for Pennsylvanians to discover unclaimed property they didn't know they had and take the steps needed to claim it. I'm grateful to work with Rep. Fee to bring Treasury directly to the 37th District and help return this money to residents and entities throughout the area."

Since taking office in 2021, Treasurer Garrity has returned more than $1.2 billion in unclaimed property, including a record of over $334 million last year.

"I was thrilled that so many of my constituents were able to regain access to unclaimed property at this event. But there are many more who may not even know about this program - thanks to Treasurer Garrity for being so intent on making sure Pennsylvanians are aware."

Treasury is working to return more than $5 billion more to its rightful owners, including over $78 million available to residents in Lancaster County. More than one in ten Pennsylvanians have unclaimed property, and the average claim is worth over $1,000.

Unclaimed property includes things like dormant bank accounts, uncashed checks, forgotten stocks and more. It can also include physical assets, such as collectible coins, jewelry and savings bonds, that most often come to Treasury as the contents of safe deposit boxes.

Anyone can search Treasury's online database at any time by visiting searchandclaimpa.gov. Pennsylvanians who have lived in other states can also search for property at MissingMoney.com for money possibly waiting across the country.
