Lane & Ramp Closures on Interstate 5 and State Routes 99 & 152

Merced County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have traffic controls in place for the following construction and maintenance activities on Interstate 5 (I-5) and State Routes 99 (SR-99), and SR-152 in Merced County next week. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

Interstate 5

  • Full off-ramp closure on northbound I-5 to SR-152 westbound for pavement work on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Full off-ramp closure on southbound I-5 to SR-152 eastbound for pavement work on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Full off-ramp closure on southbound I-5 to SR-152 westbound for pavement work on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Alternating lane closures on northbound I-5 from the CHP Truck Scales to the Delta Mendota for pavement work on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Alternating lane closures on northbound I-5 from Cottonwood Road Over-Crossing to Garzas Creek for pavement work on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

State Route 99

  • One-way surface street traffic control on the East Atwater Over-Crossing for utility work beginning Monday, June 22, through Friday, June 26, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

State Route 152

  • Full off-ramp closure on eastbound SR-152 to northbound I-5 for pavement work on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • Full off-ramp closure on westbound SR-152 to southbound I-5 for pavement work on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
