Opening ceremony of the sixth World Nomad Games
Before the event, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov Japarov SadyrPresident of the Kyrgyz Republic and his wife welcomed the heads of delegations invited to attend the opening ceremony.
The World Nomad Games are international sports and cultural competitions dedicated to preserving and promoting the traditions of the nomadic peoples. They have been held since 2014.
The sixth World Nomad Games will take place on September 1-6, 2026. Athletes will compete in 43 ethnic sports, while the programme will also feature a variety of cultural events.
Around 3,000 athletes from more than 100 countries are expected to participate in the games. The Russian national team comprises more than 230 athletes representing 33 regions of the Russian Federation.
