First Residents of Jessie Daniel Ames Hall and Ella Sedwick Hall Move In
Before classes began, students assigned to Southwestern's two newest residence halls got to see their new digs for the first time on move-in day.

Before the start of the Spring 2026 semester, Southwestern University officially unveiled two new residential spaces: Jessie Daniel Ames Hall and Ella Sedwick Hall. Students enjoyed getting a first look at their new rooms while moving in before classes began. The new residence halls blend living areas with outdoor spaces while emphasizing areas for collaboration. Jessie Daniel Ames Hall features a fitness center and yoga/Pilates studio, large lounge and collaborative spaces, and study nooks throughout the building. Ella Sedwick Hall includes large lounge and collaborative spaces, an open air terrace, and several outdoor areas to study and relax.
