We're speaking to colleagues about their businesses, roles and the best professional advice they've received. Meet Cheyenne Zychowski, senior director of content development at MCG Health.
Tell us about your role.
I am senior director of content development at MCG Health, and I lead a team of clinicians, doctors and nurses who write evidence-based practice guidelines. We write these guidelines to make sure every patient gets the right care, which aligns with MCG's mission. I've been a nurse for a long time, and it's always been important to me that people be as healthy and well cared for as they possibly can.
What is your favorite part of the job?
One of the things I love most about being in leadership is helping people grow. Being able to develop my team and give them opportunities to take on new and interesting challenges is truly the part of my job that I love the most.
How are you advancing growth and innovation for your division?
We've been encouraged at MCG to experiment with AI. We've already developed a couple of AI agents and we held a three-hour session last fall with one of our AI experts to explore building our next agent.
What's something most people don't know about your business?
People often assume it must be easy to put these guidelines together - that you can just copy and paste - but it's really not like that. Writing the content, and writing it well, is much more challenging than most people realize.
What's the best piece of career advice you've ever received?
Being forthcoming about what you know, what you don't know, what's clear and what's not clear. It's something I've always tried to apply throughout my career.
