Military parade in Beijing to mark 80th anniversary of victory over Japanese militarism and end of World War II
Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko attended the military parade in Beijing, China.
High guests were welcomed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife Peng Liyuan. The leaders of the countries posed for a joint photo and then proceeded together to the rostrum in Tiananmen Square.
China markedthe 80th anniversary of its victory over Japanese militarism and the end of World War II. A large-scale parade tookplace in Tiananmen Square to commemorate this occasion.The ceremony is expected to last 70 minutes.
Heads of state and government from two and a half dozen countries are present at the large-scale parade.
An evening gala concert tookplace the same day at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
