VIDEO RELEASE: Senator Moody Encourages Florida Businesses to Participate in U.S. Small Business Association Patriot Pitch Competition for Prize Pool of Up To $1 Million

WASHINGTON D.C. - Senator Ashley Moody is encouraging Florida Businesses to sign up for the SBA Patriot Pitch Competition. This competition is backed by a $1 million prize pool and is aimed to promote small businesses that solve problems, support jobs, and serve as the backbone of our economy.

"Florida is quickly becoming renowned as an entrepreneur's paradise, and for great reason - we've seen nearly 700,000 new businesses formed just last year alone. It's no secret why businesses are flocking to the Sunshine State, our friendly business environment and Main Street entrepreneur style governance are attracting job creators in from across the country. I would love to see Floridians take advantage of this opportunity, because this money can make a real difference for those looking to make dreams a reality," said Senator Ashley Moody.

BACKGROUND:

To be eligible for SBA's Patriot Pitch, businesses must have:

  1. At least three (3) years of operating history
  2. Generate a minimum of $100,000 in annual revenue
  3. Utilized one or more SBA capital products
  4. 100% ownership by U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents
  5. Current and good standing on all federal obligations
  6. Demonstrated innovation within their sector, using new technologies or strategies to modernize operations and strengthen their competitive edge.

Ten semifinalists will be announced this summer at the Great American State Fair, with five advancing to the final competition in Washington, D.C. scheduled tentatively between September 8 and September 18, 2026.
