CONGRESSWOMAN PLASKETT ANNOUNCES OFFICE CLOSURES IN OBSERVANCE OF JUNETEENTH
Washington, D.C. - In observance of Juneteenth National Independence Day, the district offices of Congresswoman Stacey E. Plaskett on St. Croix and St. Thomas, as well as the Washington, D.C. office, will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026. All offices will reopen on Monday, June 22, 2026.
"Juneteenth is a testament to the enduring resilience and power of Black people in this country. It is a reminder that freedom, when it finally came, was carried forward not by those in power, but by the courage of a people who refused to let their humanity be erased. As we mark this day, we must do more than celebrate, we must commit to preserving the culture, the history, and the stories that have shaped who we are. From the shores of West Africa to the fields of Galveston to the hills of the Virgin Islands, our story is one of survival, brilliance, and an unbreakable will to thrive," shared Congresswoman Plaskett.
"To every community, every family, and every individual honoring this day, I wish you a meaningful and joyful Juneteenth. May we always remember where we came from, so we never lose sight of where we are going."
For assistance, please call 202-225-1790 (Washington, D.C.), 340-778-5900 (St. Croix), or 340-774-4408 (St. Thomas). Messages left will be responded to when the offices reopen on Monday, June 22, 2026.
