SIKESTON-The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to replace two bridges on Route M and one bridge on Route C in Madison County. The bridges will be replaced with wider structures.
The projects include:
During construction, the roadway will be closed in the vicinity of each bridge for approximately three months. Closures of County Road 310 and County Road 301 will be necessary as construction is underway for the Route M bridges over Shetley Creek and East Fork Big Creek, respectively.
Work to replace the Route M bridges could begin as early as December 2026. Work to replace the Route C bridge is anticipated to begin in summer 2027 to minimize impacts to the local school district.
Maps, plans, and other information prepared by the Missouri Department of Transportation will be available for public inspection and copying at MoDOT's Sikeston District office, 2675 N. Main St. in Sikeston, Missouri.

Any person affected by these projects may request that a public meeting be held in regard to the proposed improvements. Requests for a public meeting shall be in writing and must be submitted to Assistant District Engineer Jason Williams at 2675 North Main St., Sikeston, MO 63801, by Wednesday, Oct. 1.
