WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Senator Jim Banks (R-Ind.), a member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee and an Afghanistan veteran, released the following statement praising President Trump's Fiscal Year 2027 budget which includes $1.98 billion to build a new VA Medical Center in Indianapolis with an 840,000 square-foot bed tower to fulfill acute care requirements, multi-specialty clinic, primary care, and utility infrastructure:
Sen. Banks: "This is a big win for Indianapolis. I was proud to lead the fight for this funding as a member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee and am grateful for President Trump and Secretary Collins' support of our Hoosier veterans."

Senator Banks asked secretary Collins for a commitment on funding this project at his confirmation hearing in January of last year.
