500 Trees to be Distributed During April Tree Giveaway Events
Published on March 26, 2026
The City of Miami will hold Arbor Day Tree Giveaway events throughout the month of April. As part of the City's continued commitment to growing and protecting its urban tree canopy, a total of 500 fruit trees, hardwood trees, and shrubs will be distributed to residents.
The initiative, led by the Building Department's Environmental Resources Division, is designed to enhance neighborhood shade, promote environmental sustainability, and support a greener, healthier Miami. The program plays a vital role in maintaining and increasing tree canopy coverage across the city.
Residents may receive one tree per household on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Available species include mango, avocado, lychee, live oak, black ironwood lignum vitae, green buttonwood, silver buttonwood, and firebush.
