Sen. Rick Scott Introduces Bill to Revoke Communist China’s Trade Privileges and Prioritize American Jobs

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Today, Senator Rick Scott announced the introduction of his No Trade Preferences for Communist China Act. This bill will revoke the permanent trade relations status of Communist China, an adversary to the United States. This legislation aligns with President Trump's efforts hold Communist China accountable and ensure the United States is not taken advantage of by ensuring China is treated as an adversary, not a partner. Communist China has failed to uphold its end of any deal with the United States since being granted permanent normal trade relations status - instead, using this to undermine the United States' economy, steal Americans' intellectual property, and harm our families, businesses, and national security.

Senator Rick Scott said, "Communist China has long taken advantage of our open markets, stealing our technology, undermining American workers and businesses, and harming American families. It's clear China is an adversary, not a trusted partner to the United States, and they have proven that time and time again. President Trump is doing an incredible job putting America first and cracking down on Communist China's abuses, and as he works to hold Communist China accountable to its word, he must have every ounce of leverage available. My bill, the No Trade Preferences for Communist China Act, revokes Communist China's preferred trade status to send a clear message that the United States will not give privileges to nations that continuously prove they aren't worthy of them."
