The Missouri Department of Economic Development (DED) announced today that Warren Head Business Park, located in Palmyra, is now a Missouri Certified Site. As a Missouri Certified Site, the 65-acre Warren Head Business Park indicates it is ready for companies looking to establish business in Palmyra.
"We're excited for Warren Head Business Park to join Missouri's growing list of shovel-ready sites," said Michelle Hataway, Director of the Department of Economic Development. "DED is proud to assist communities through the Certified Sites program to attract investments that help Missourians prosper."
As a Certified Site of the Missouri Certified Sites program, Warren Head Business Park joins more than 30 other sites statewide that are recognized as development-ready. Certified sites meet rigorous standards intended to reduce risk and accelerate a company's relocation or expansion. The certification process evaluates key factors such as utility availability, site access, environmental considerations, land use compatibility, and potential development costs.
"Achieving Missouri Certified Site designation for Warren Head Business Park is a major step forward for Palmyra," said Palmyra Mayor Rusty Adrian. "This certification demonstrates that we are prepared for growth and ready to welcome new businesses and jobs. By investing in this process, we're showing that Palmyra is open for business and committed to building a strong economic future for our residents."
Purchased by the City of Palmyra in 2018, Warren Head Business Park is strategically located less than a quarter mile from four-lane U.S. Highway 61 (the Avenue of the Saints), providing a direct connection between St. Louis and St. Paul, Minnesota. The park is also within five miles of Interstate 72 (the Chicago-Kansas City Expressway), offering excellent access to both domestic and international markets. To support future growth, the City of Palmyra has invested in critical infrastructure at the site, including robust electric, water, and wastewater capacity, along with high-speed fiber internet.
About Missouri Certified Sites
The purpose of the Missouri Certified Sites program is to define benchmarks consistent with national economic development industry standards regarding the availability and potential of commercial or industrial development sites. Certification is performed through a comprehensive review of many of the issues facing businesses as they search for areas to relocate or expand. These include the availability of utilities, site access, environmental concerns, land use conformance, and site development costs.
Communities seeking site certification can submit applications year-round. Missouri's growing list of development-ready Certified Sites is available on DED's website.
