Caldecott Tunnel Westbound State Route 24 (Sr-24) Overnight Closures of Bore #4

Nightly, Monday, May 4, 2026, through Wednesday, May 6, 2026

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans will conduct overnight closures of Caldecott Tunnel Bore 4 on westbound State Route 24 (SR-24) in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. These overnight closures are being implemented to allow for tunnel washing, fire drill, and routine maintenance activities. The work is scheduled to occur nightly from Monday, May 4, 2026, through Wednesday, May 6, 2026. All other bores in each direction will remain open to traffic. Please note that this work is weather dependent and the schedule may change.

Changeable message signs will help guide drivers passing through this area. Travelers should anticipate possible delays and plan for additional travel time. Exercise caution when driving through the construction zone and remember to reduce your speed in the Cone Zone. Always slow for the cone zone.
