NEW YORK-Federal Reserve Bank of New York President John C. Williams will visit Orange County, New York on May 7 to meet with leaders in government, business, and community and economic development.
This daylong regional visit will begin in Goshen, where President Williams will meet with Orange County officials to hear about economic opportunities and challenges in the region. He will then meet with members of the Orange County Partnership and a group of business leaders to discuss business conditions and the local economy.
Next, President Williams will visit the Legoland New York theme park, where he will take part in a roundtable discussion on tourism and hospitality in the region.
From there, President Williams will travel to Newburgh, where he will learn about the revitalization and development of the downtown area. He will then visit the Highpoint event space, where he will join community development leaders for a roundtable discussion on affordability for residents across urban, suburban, and rural locations.
To conclude the regional visit, President Williams will participate in a moderated discussion at an event organized by Hudson Valley Pattern for Progress, where he will share insights from the day's meetings and answer questions from stakeholders in the Hudson Valley.
These meetings serve to inform President Williams on regional issues and are part of the New York Fed's ongoing efforts to assess economic conditions across the Federal Reserve's Second District, which includes New York State, northern New Jersey, southwestern Connecticut, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
