COLUMBUS-State Representative Gayle Manning (R-Avon) is pleased to announce that the Elyria Police Department was recently awarded $40,500 through the Ohio Violent Crime Reduction Grant Program.
The funding will be used by the department to support ongoing public safety services aimed at preventing and investigating violent crime. Since its launch in 2021, the program has provided more than $87 million in support to law enforcement agencies for investigative overtime costs, crime-reduction technology, targeted patrols in high-crime areas, and other key initiatives.
"I am grateful for this grant funding which will support our law enforcement and directly increase public safety in our communities," said Manning.
This round of violent crime reduction grants was funded by House Bill 96-the State Operating Budget for fiscal years 2026-27.
