'Proxies' is coming to Netflix on December 11
Netflix has today unveiled the teaser and first-look images for Proxies , a new thriller starring Eduard Fernández ( The 47, God's Crooked Lines ), Mario Casas ( The Dinner, The Innocent ), Blanca Suárez ( Hidden Murder, Breathless ), Nicolás Francella ( The House of the Spirits, High Seas ) and Alexandra Jiménez ( Go Team!, 53 Sundays ). The film will premiere globally on Netflix on December 11 .
Directed by Oriol Paulo ( The Innocent, God's Crooked Lines, The Invisible Guest ), the film tells the story of how, on Christmas Eve morning, a man walks into a police station and confesses to killing two or three people. Yet, behind his confession lies a question that is harder to answer: why he has decided to turn himself in now, and what he hopes to achieve with his confession. From that point on, his story soon becomes linked to another seemingly closed case, one that defies all logic.
The cast also includes Blanca Parés ( Legacy, Julieta ), Javier Beltrán ( Dreams of Freedom, The Messiah ), Marta Bayarri ( The Map of Longings, My Loneliness Has Wings ) and Ana Wagener ( If It's Tuesday, It's Murder, The Innocent ).
Speaking about the film, Oriol Paulo says: "With Proxies, I wanted to create a thriller that, beyond the suspense, carried the emotional weight of a tragedy. A story in which guilt, pain and the need to find answers ultimately drive the characters towards the erosion of their own moral principles."
Proxies is a Juanita Films production, written by Oriol Paulo and Guillem Clua . Oriol Paulo and Miguel Ángel Faura serve as executive producers and produce alongside Libertad Ribera and Jaume Martí . Cinematography is by Bernat Bosch , with an original score by Fernando Velázquez .
