Rosen Secures $20 Million in Federal Funding to Support Reno-Tahoe International Airport Renovations

As A Member Of The Senate Commerce Committee, Senator Rosen Has Been Leading The Efforts To Secure This Funding For Reno-Tahoe International Airport, Support Tourism Industry

WASHINGTON, DC - U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen (D-NV) announced that she secured $20 million in federal funding to support the ongoing "MoreRNO" renovations at Reno-Tahoe International Airport. The funding comes from the Airport Terminal Program (ATP), established under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) that Senator Rosen helped write and pass. Rosen played a key role in creating ATP as a member of the working group that drafted BIL's airports provisions. This historic funding will go toward the ongoing construction of the NewGen A&B Concourses - which includes the replacement of all gates, upgrades to restrooms and security rooms, and the integration of 100% common use gates for greater airline flexibility.

"Reno-Tahoe International Airport is essential to Northern Nevada's travel and tourism economy, and it's critical that we do all we can to support it," said Senator Rosen. "I'm proud to have secured $20 million in federal funding through a program I helped create to ensure that the airport continues to provide the best traveling experiences for Nevadans and tourists alike. I'll keep working across party lines to deliver the federal resources to boost Nevada's tourism economy."

"The New Gen A&B concourse project, part of our MoreRNO infrastructure program, will reimagine the airport experience in our community with more space, modernized concessions, as well as more accessible and family friendly features," said Cris Jensen, Interim President/CEO of the Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority. "We are very grateful for these grant funds to support this important investment in our hometown airport and we thank our federal congressional delegation and the FAA for their steadfast support over the life of this grant program."

Senator Rosen has been a champion for the Reno-Tahoe International Airport and the "MoreRNO" expansion. In 2024, Senator Rosen helped secure $7 million through ATRP for the "MoreRNO" project, and was given the Outstanding Service Award by the airport's Authority's Board of Trustees Chair for her efforts to support airport operations. Last year, she also helped secure more than $7 million to strengthen the airport's infrastructure and overnight operations.
