Technological innovation initiatives introduced at the Nuevo Pemex Gas Processing Complex

Since October 15, portable motor compressors have been in operation at the Nuevo Pemex Gas Processing Complex (CPG), allowing for the efficient reuse of dry gas and avoiding the flaring of approximately 35 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd).

This action not only reduces accelerated wear on structural components of the flare systems, such as nozzles and instrumentation, but also minimizes greenhouse gas emissions, improving air quality and contributing to the ecological balance of the ecosystems surrounding the Nuevo Pemex CPG.

It should be noted that the reuse of dry gas has brought about significant operational advantages, such as increased energy efficiency at the complex, optimized fuel consumption, and improved financial results.

Additional benefits also include:

  • Reduction of the facility's carbon footprint, in line with national energy sustainability targets.
  • Greater operational reliability through the reduction of unscheduled downtime for flare burner maintenance.
  • Improved industrial safety through reduced risks associated with continuous gas combustion and wear and tear on critical equipment.
  • Contribution to compliance with international environmental regulations, such as those established by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and ISO standards related to emissions and energy efficiency.
  • Promotion of circular economy by turning energy waste into a useful resource within the same production process.

These actions establish CPG Nuevo Pemex as a benchmark for technological innovation, operational efficiency, and environmental accountability within the national energy sector.
