On October 28-30, 2025 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and the Republic of the Union of Myanmar concurrently, Vladimir Borovikov, visited Myanmar.
At a meeting with the Union Minister of Investments and Foreign Economic Relations, Co-Chairman of the Belarusian-Myanmar Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation Wa Wa Maung, the progress in implementing the agreements reached at the Intergovernmental Committee meeting in Minsk on October 2, 2025 was reviewed. The importance of promoting joint projects in the fields of mechanical engineering, agriculture, healthcare, science and technology was emphasized.
Prospects for the development of cooperation between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries were discussed with the Union Minister of Internal Affairs Tun Tun Naung. Ways of providing assistance to Belarusian citizens who may find themselves in extreme situations on the territory of Myanmar have been considered.
Issues of cooperation in the credit and financial sphere were discussed with Chairman of the Central Bank of Myanmar Than Than Swe. The need to assist the economic entities of the two countries in increasing mutual trade was outlined.
The Belarusian Ambassador "compared notes" with the President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Myanmar, Aye Win, on topical issues of cooperation between the business circles of the two countries. An agreement has been reached to hold a joint business event by the end of 2025.
During the meeting with Chairman of the Myanmar-Belarus Association of Friendship and Cooperation Aung Thaw, plans were outlined for the implementation of new initiatives in the cultural and humanitarian sphere in the near future.
