"Brisas del Sol is exactly the kind of progress Miami needs, real affordable homes in the heart of our community. These 146 apartments will help working families, seniors, and neighbors who keep this city running live in the city they love, close to jobs, schools, and opportunity. We are using every tool we have, including federal HOME dollars, to deliver housing faster and at the scale Miamians deserve, because affordability is not optional, it is the future of our city." said Mayor Eileen Higgins.
"Affordable housing developments like Brisas de Sol show that housing can still be built in a way that genuinely benefits our community at a time when too many residents are being priced out of our city. When done correctly, developments like this provide stability and improve quality of life. Our responsibility is clear. We must prioritize housing solutions that keep our residents in Miami, not force them out of the communities they call home." said Commissioner Rolando Escalona
The City of Miami awarded $2,250,000 in federal HOME Investment Partnerships ("HOME") Program funds toward the $53.3 million development, which includes two separate buildings with a combined 146 rental units. The first garden-style building is located at 455 SW 16 Avenue and features 36 units in three stories, all with two- and three-bedroom floor plans. The second, eight-story building is located at 154 SW 17 Avenue and features 110 units, with a majority of those units offering one-bedroom, one-bathroom floor plans. All of Brisas del Sol's units are for households earning between 30% and 80% of Area Median Income ("AMI").
