Celebrating Arts & Culture in Ventura, September 26-27

Ventura, Calif.- ArtWalk Ventura returns to Downtown and Westside Ventura on Saturday, September 27, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday, September 28, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., bringing together more than 200 participating artists, dozens of local venues, and an exciting lineup of performances by local musicians, poets, dancers, and filmmakers. A public street-painting event begins Friday, September 26 at 10:00 a.m. in front of Mission San Buenaventura.

This annual volunteer-led event is proudly supported by the City of Ventura and celebrates the richness and diversity of the city's arts and cultural community. Attendees can explore a dynamic mix of visual art, live music, poetry, and dance along Main Street, in Mission Park, and at local galleries, restaurants, and businesses throughout the two-day event.

Now in its second year, ArtWalk's CineFest returns to the Knights of Columbus Hall at 36 Figueroa Street on both days from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. This showcase features a compelling selection of local, regional, and international films, including submissions from France and Iran.

Whether you're an art lover, film enthusiast, or simply looking to experience Ventura's creative spirit, ArtWalk Ventura offers something for everyone.

In addition, the city is hosting two special community events designed to further highlight and celebrate the local creative spirit.

Mural Rededication at Westpark Community Center: On Friday, September 26 at 5:30 p.m., the community is invited to celebrate the restoration of Ventura's oldest public art mural, Let It Be Known, by local artist MB Hanrahan. Originally painted by Ricky Delgado in 1978 and redesigned in 1996 by Hanrahan and local youth groups, this marks the mural's second restoration, preserving its legacy for future generations.

Free Senior Watercolor Class at Ventura Avenue Adult Center: On Saturday, September 27, 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Ventura residents ages 50+ are invited to participate in a free watercolor painting class. Space is limited and pre-registration is required at https://www.cityofventura.ca.gov/VAAC-Arts.

Together, these events unite Ventura's neighborhoods, businesses, and arts community in a vibrant, two-day celebration of culture, collaboration, and creativity. For more details on ArtWalk, including participating venues, organizations, and event times, visit https://www.artwalkventura.org.
