The Jordan Fintech Festival 2025 kicked off in the capital Amman, organized by the Central Bank of Jordan in cooperation with the Arab Monetary Fund, and in strategic partnerships with the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) and the Association of Banks in Jordan. The festival, the first of its kind in the Kingdom, brings together central bank leaders, securities regulators, representatives of the financial and banking sector, entrepreneurs and investors, as well as regional and international experts, to discuss the future of the digital financial industry and exchange insights on the latest global trends.
H.E. the Governor of the Central Bank of Jordan opened the festival with a speech welcoming participants and Arab and international delegations, stressing that hosting this event reflects a national vision that Jordan is steadily moving toward consolidating its position as a regional hub for innovation in the fintech industry. His Excellency noted that the Kingdom, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, and with the support and follow-up of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, has made significant progress in developing digital payments infrastructure, enacting advanced legislation such as the Virtual Assets Law, and enhancing financial inclusion in line with global best practices.
For his part, H.E. Dr. Fahad M. Alturki, Chairman of the Arab Monetary Fund, affirmed that the Fintech Festival in Jordan represents a strategic platform for learning, cooperation, and innovation. It contributes to achieving national progress in developing digital infrastructure and advanced regulatory frameworks, while also highlighting the AMF's role as a strategic partner to its member states and as a capacity-building institution, in addition to supporting central banks in driving innovation and financial inclusion.
He also emphasized that the success of this festival depends on the active engagement of all participants, the exchange of experiences, and the building of strategic partnerships that support the path of digital financial transformation.
The two-day festival provides a high-level platform to discuss vital topics such as the future of digital payments, virtual assets, open finance, and artificial intelligence in financial services, alongside issues of cybersecurity and consumer protection. It also features specialized workshops, most notably the Virtual Assets Workshop organized by the Central Bank of Jordan in collaboration with the Arab Monetary Fund, with broad participation from regulatory and supervisory authorities, law enforcement agencies, and financial institutions.
The sessions concluded with an affirmation that Jordan, through this landmark event, is no longer merely a recipient of fintech but has become a regional player in shaping its future. The festival marks a pivotal milestone in strengthening the Kingdom's position as a leading regional destination for innovation and partnerships in financial technology.
On the sidelines of the festival, the 14th meeting of the Arab Monetary Fund's Fintech Working Group was held, with wide participation from representatives of Arab central banks and regulatory bodies. The meeting discussed developments in the fintech industry across the region and global trends in the field. A specialized workshop on virtual assets was also organized in cooperation between the Central Bank of Jordan and the Arab Monetary Fund, with participation from regulators, law enforcement bodies, and financial and banking institutions, reviewing international experiences as well as the opportunities and challenges related to implementing legislative and regulatory frameworks.
