A $5,000 gift from the Taylorville Community Credit Union (TCCU) has helped the Taylorville Memorial Foundation reach its fundraising goal for the Kim Bourne Emerging Leaders Endowment Fund.

The fund, which raised $25,000, including a $3,000 gift from Sharon and Ed Curtis, received a generous $25,000 matching grant from the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Auxiliary to bring the total endowment to $50,000.

"We are grateful for every donor who supported this important fund that will invest in our emerging leaders," said Katie Champion Williams, foundation director. "Most recently TCCU's gift demonstrates their commitment to strengthening healthcare leadership within our community. Sharon and Ed Curtis expressed their support to push us to the finish line, and the Auxiliary's willingness to match each gift up to $25,000 has also been crucial."

The Kim Bourne Emerging Leaders Endowment Fund was established in January 2026 to honor former TMH President and CEO Kim Bourne and her dedication to developing future healthcare leaders.

The fund provides professional development opportunities for individuals newer to leadership roles. Through conferences, workshops, specialized training programs and other leadership development opportunities, participants can build confidence, strengthen skills and expand perspectives as they grow into the next generation of healthcare leaders.

TCCU has long been a valued community partner of Taylorville Memorial Hospital and the foundation. TCCU CEO Will Perkins serves as chair of the TMH Foundation board and is also a member of the Taylorville Memorial Hospital Board of Directors. Through their partnership and generosity, TCCU continues to help advance healthcare initiatives that benefit patients, staff, and the entire community.

"Kim's leadership legacy touched countless lives throughout her career," said Perkins. "This endowment ensures that future leaders will have access to experiences and opportunities that inspire growth, innovation and excellence in patient care, just as Kim did throughout her long career."
