Higher gas prices also mean higher heating costs for Maine families
Augusta, Maine - Today, when asked about rising gas prices, Donald Trump dismissively said "If they rise, they rise." His comments come as Mainers across the state are already seeing higher prices at the pump.
According to WMTW, "home heating oil prices are also rising sharply, a major concern in Maine, where more than half of households rely on heating oil to warm their homes."
Yet many Republican candidates running for governor have repeatedly tied themselves to Trumpand the MAGA agenda, praising his leadership while refusing to criticize him. As costs rise for Maine families, will they stand up for Mainers or continue falling in line with Trump?
Maine Democratic Party executive director Devon Murphy-Anderson released the following statement:
"The Republicans running for governor claim to care about rising costs, yet they stay silent as Trump dismisses the impact those costs have on Maine families. We deserve a governor who will put us first - not politicians who are too busy trying to impress Donald Trump to stand up for the people they want to represent."
