"Few arbitration lawyers have Michele's depth of experience across both civil and common law frameworks," said Timothy Foden, partner and co-head of the firm's international arbitration group. "His arrival strengthens our bench in Europe and enhances our ability to guide clients through high-stakes disputes wherever they arise. I am jazzed to welcome Michele to BSF and look forward to working with him."
Michele specializes in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration, cross-border dispute resolution and international legal assistance, with experience spanning the energy, construction, defense, and aerospace sectors, as well as corporate and post-M&A disputes. He has served as both counsel and arbitrator in ad hoc and administered proceedings, advising clients at every stage of complex disputes, from securing emergency interim relief to enforcing awards across multiple jurisdictions. He has also represented states in multiple proceedings before Italian courts.
"Michele combines first-rate arbitration experience with deep knowledge of the Italian business and legal landscape," said Stefano Zonca, international arbitration partner in the firm's Milan office. "His practice complements and expands our existing capabilities to advise on strategic matters throughout Europe."
"I am delighted to join BSF and contribute to the continued growth of its international arbitration practice," said Michele Curatola. "I have always believed that the strongest client relationships are built on trust, a deep understanding of clients' businesses, and a pragmatic, commercially focused approach. The firm's entrepreneurial culture and international platform provide an ideal environment to further develop this approach and build lasting partnerships with clients."
Michele's arrival builds on the continued expansion of the firm's presence in Italy, following the additions of antitrust partner Gianluca Faella in Rome and a team led by employment partner Nicola Bonante in Milan earlier this year.
