Cambridge Public Library Launches 2026 Summer Reading Bingo

The Cambridge Public Library's annual Summer Reading program will run from June 2 0 through August 1 4 . Patrons of all ages are invited to play Summer Reading bingo to share the joy of reading . This year's theme is Plant a Seed, Read, celebrating the natural world we live in .

To participate , patrons register online or in person and can pick up a bingo board at any branch location. . are bingo board s for four different age groups: Adult (19+), Teen (13-18), School Age (6-12), and Early Childhood (birth-5) . E ach board is filled with age-appropriate reading prompts. Participants can choose any prompt and read a book that fulfills the prompt to complete the square. Players receive a gift for registering and a reward for each complete bingo line (while supplies last) . Players who complete the entire bingo board can redeem their board for a special blackout prize. Entries are accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, August 1 4 .

On Saturday, June 2 0 , from 2 -3 p.m. , the Main will host a Party for all ages with a live performance from Alastair Moock Trio , arts and crafts, free ice cream, and more . P atrons can register, pick up a Summer Reading bingo board and learn more about special event s happening across branch es all summer long. The Department of Public Works Recycling/ Food Waste , Forestry, and Community Gardens departments , and the Cambridge Office of Sustainability will join us to celebrate summer and the natural world.

Funding for Summer Reading has been generously provided by the City of Cambridge, the Cambridge Public Library Foundation, the Friends of the Cambridge Public Library , and the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners .
