PBC - Declaration of State of Local Emergency Effective November 1, 2026

WHEREAS, on November 1, 2026, an aircraft crashed in an area of unincorporated Palm Beach County near Military Trail and 10th A venue North, resulting in a significant emergency incident requiring an immediate response from public safety and emergency management personnel; and

WHEREAS, the aircraft crash resulted in fires, debris, damage to property and infrastructure, and conditions posing an immediate threat to public health, safety, and welfare in the surrounding area; and

WHEREAS, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, the Palm Beach County Sheriffs Office, and other responding agencies have mobilized personnel and resources to conduct emergency response operations, secure the affected area, address hazardous conditions, and protect residents -and property; and

WHEREAS, the incident has necessitated the closure of portions of Military Trail and may require evacuations, emergency medical services, debris removal, restoration of public infrastructure, and other protective measures; and

WHEREAS, the conditions resulting from the aircraft crash constitute an emergency that threatens the health, safety, and welfare of persons and property within Palm Beach County and warrants the declaration of a local state of emergency; and

WHEREAS, the nature and extent of the incident require continued coordination among local, state, and federal agencies and the immediate availability of personnel,·equipment, supplies, and other resources necessary to protect life and property; and
