Approximately 360 students from a dozen southwest Oklahoma high schools converged on Cameron University recently to participate in the university's 44th Interscholastic Contest. The academic meet offered events in more than 45 categories ranging from accounting and biology, to woodwind instruments and world history.

"We were thrilled with the turn out for this year's contest," said contest coordinator Dr. Dana Lee. "The most rewarding part was hearing students cheer for their peers as the scores were announced."

Area high schools sending competitors to the contest were Altus, Anadarko, Big Pasture, Cache, Cyril, Lawton Eisenhower, Lawton High and Lawton MacArthur, the LPS Life Ready Center, Ninnekah, Sterling and Temple.
