Loma Linda University Children's Hospital has received a $215,000 grant from BIGHORN Behind A Miracle (BAM), part of an ongoing commitment by members to save the lives of fellow Coachella Valley cancer patients, BAM was founded in 2007 by Selby Dunham, a cancer survivor in Palm Desert, CA.
The funds will cover a range of needed critical equipment and enhancements in the Children's Hospital's Hematology/Oncology Unit, including:
"This remarkable gift will have an immediate, meaningful impact on the children and families we serve," said Peter Baker, Senior Vice President and Administrator of Loma Linda University Children's Hospital. "These resources promise to make the hospital experience a little easier during those difficult moments of treatment. We sincerely thank BIGHORN BAM for investing in the health of our community's youngest patients."
This is the second consecutive year that BIGHORN BAM has supported the Children's Hospital's mission. "Charities director Kelly Levy is an outstanding partner who has demonstrated a real dedication to advancing care for our patients and families," said Josh N. Zahid, director of major gifts, education for Loma Linda University Health.
