Rep. Nancy Mace Calls On Four Members Of Congress To Resign For Reported Misconduct Or Face Expulsion

WASHINGTON, D.C. (Apr. 13, 2026) - Congresswoman Nancy Mace is calling on four members of Congress to resign immediately over reported actions proving they are unfit to serve, or face expulsion.

The four members are Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick, Tony Gonzales, Cory Mills, and Eric Swalwell. Rep. Mace made it clear: no member of Congress, Republican or Democrat, is above accountability. No exceptions.

"We don't care what party you're in. Stealing millions in taxpayer dollars, sexually assaulting your staff, lying about your service record, none of it is acceptable and none of it goes unnoticed," said Congresswoman Mace. "Dropping out of a race is not accountability. Every one of them needs to resign immediately. The American people deserve a Congress worthy of their trust. The House needs to be cleaned out, and it starts with these four."

The allegations against each member speak for themselves:

  • Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick: Found guilty of 25 ethics charges, accused of stealing $5 million in FEMA funds. Taxpayer dollars STOLEN.
  • Tony Gonzales: Harassed former staffer Regina Santos-Aviles in the middle of the night. Asking for explicit photos. Pressing her on sexual positions. She said stop. He didn't. She then committed suicide, lighting herself on fire. A second staffer came forward. He asked her what kind of panties she wears and told her "I won't stop until I get it." She said no. He kept going.
  • Cory Mills: Accused of assaulting women, profiting off federal contracts from his seat, and inflating or falsifying his military service record.
  • Eric Swalwell: Facing sexual misconduct allegations from four different women. A former staffer says he raped her while she was heavily intoxicated and left her bleeding and bruised. Unsolicited nude photos. Sexual assault. A pattern of predatory behavior.

"Congress has serious moral and ethical problems and these four are the face of it. Washington has protected its own for too long. It needs to end now. We're calling on these four to resign or face expulsion," Mace added.
